I modeled it for him as a gift.

I modeled this in Maya and had it 3D printed by Shapeways. Then I used acrylic to paint the texture on. This was my first 3D print, and was a lot of fun to fine tune to work with their printers, and to bring the model into full color when painting it. The process took 2 weeks.
